Rough, Dry Skin

It is pretty understandable that the quivertree, a large, old, and slow growing aloe plant (Aloidendron dichotomum) needs a thick skin. It grows in some of the driest parts of the world. That is another quivertree in the background.

 

This was seen at the Garas Quivertree Park near Keetmanshoop, Namibia.
