Wilson Dam

Part of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). The dam and locks are on the Tennessee River in northern Alabama.

Construction began in 1918 to supply power to nitrate plants that the government built at nearby Muscle Shoals to create explosives for WWI. The dam was acquired by the TVA in 1933.

The architecture is neoclassical.
