The Redstone Test Stand is located at the NASA George C. Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Alabama and was built in 1953 by Werner Von Braun and team to test early rocket engines. The exhaust from the rocket engines is directed into tunnels that steer it down and off to the right -- out of sight from this vantage point.
