Joey, outdoors today 😻
One of my very recent snaps of Joey, since his second hospitalization in early November due to CKD. He has regained his vigor and weight thanks to the ongoing acupuncture treatments, frequent subcutaneous fluid therapy and daily feeding of probiotics and Brand's Essence of Chicken. Admittedly, Joey's the first cat in our household to be fed with this traditional tonic. It sure has boosted his appetite and works better than the drug mirtazapine which our conventional vet prescribed him back in November. Poor Joey suffered from mild head tremors after applying mirtazapine to his ears.
We used to purchase the expensive probiotic called Azodyl, which our vet sells for US$1 a capsule. One day I found out that there are cheaper alternatives that do the same job but needs no refrigeration or have to be swallowed whole! She must be wondering why I haven't been to her clinic for a refill for the past two months. 😁
