Among The Waves.
Having only seen Storm Petrels once before (July 2011), with the recent Storm Babet driving birds close in to the east coast of Scotland and into rivers I headed out when the weather settled down just a little to check the Tay, here in Dundee. I was very pleased to find a Storm Petrel feeding just offshore, a few hundred metres downriver from the Tay roadbridge (another was off Riverside Nature Park) and it hung around well into the afternoon allowing others to catch up with. Although the photos aren't brilliant, I was definitely glad to get closer views than I'd previously had, and also to add the species to my Dundee145 list, and my Dundee list as a whole.
