Stoer Head Lighthouse

Anybody else fed up with the Scottish weather this 'summer'?! I have been trying to get one of my sons, who is home from uni' for a few weeks, across to the West Coast. We haven't had a single suitable day so yesterday just decided to 'go for it' as he leaves on Wednesday. It was pouring most of the way across but started to dry a little as we headed up beyond Ullapool. We continued north via Achnahaird Bay (no photos here - just grey and miserable) along the coast road through Lochinver up to Stoer Head, a beautiful drive and wholly recommended if you haven't done it before. It was at least dry when we arrived and had just about enough texture in the sky to make it 'interesting' enough for a backdrop to the Stoer Head Lighthouse. I have mentioned before my discomfort on high, exposed places and a very strong wind whipping across the cliff tops here did nothing for my feeling of 'insecurity'!
