Hire your own porter. Investigate the trekking company. Make sure they provide insurance for him/her. Be sure your porter is properly equiped for the trek over Thorung La. Be fair and reasonable with the load you expect your porter to carry. These amazing men and women will demonstrate feats of strength unlike anything you have ever seen, but they are still humans!
