From Brussels With Love (1980) - front cover
"From Brussels With Love" is a cassette compilation that was released jointly by Factory Records (UK) and Les Disques Du Crepescule (Benelux) in late 1980.
I can't remember how much I paid for it (probably about £3) but it arrived in a PVC wallet which contained the cassette, an arty 16 page booklet, a "fiche technique" containing the tracklisting and a "mode d'emploi" for repeated listening with or without the interviews with Brian Eno and Jeanne Moreau which appear at the end of side one and the beginning of side two respectively. It contains a wide variety of interesting music, most of which has never seen the light of day anywhere else.
However, the best thing about it for me turned out to be the fact that the Jeanne Moreau interview is accompanied by two of Erik Satie's piano pieces ("Gnossienne #5" and "Je Te Veux"). I'd never heard of him at the time and it was one of my best ever musical discoveries....
