Expansion
Every morning brings a different look to the oilfields. My office is about a twenty minute drive from the house and my route rarely varies which, I guess, would be a bad thing if I was paranoid about someone trying to "take me out." I'm changing my route! :) The drive onto the lease is to the east, so, depending on the time of the year, there can be some spectacular sunrises over the Sierras and Tehachapi Mountains. I haven't been late to work yet, but, I do stop frequently to grab a phone shot. I guess you wouldn't think about the southern San Joaquin Valley having mountains. It is a valley and boxed in on three sides with mountain ranges. We just normally can't see them because of the smog. There was a time when visibility was clear. I think the first time I noticed that the clarity was disappearing was in the early 1980s. About the same time I noticed smog on the high desert.
