My Little River garden
In between Christmas 2016 and January 2017 I moved to a small historic cottage on a hectare of land at Little River. The original part of the cottage is made from hand-sawn timber and at the time I moved there it was more than 160 years old.
The garden has a mix of New Zealand native and introduced trees and a small wetland.
Native forest is on the hillsides only a 100m or so away, and the cottage overlooks local farmland.
Birds abound.
This is a photographic record of the garden, its landscapes, and the birds that have come to my garden, they include both native and introduced species.
Many of the photos have been taken from the comfort of our outdoor furniture, the birds having accepted our presence when we are seated on our patio and coming very close.
