Waitangitaona wetlands, Whataroa

A splendid wetland on the coastal side of Whataroa on the South Island's West Coast. Great examples of kahikatea swamp forest and floodplain wetlands (swamp). Strong populations of birds including the elusive and threatened matata (fernbird).
