Castle Hill - Kura Kawhiti, Canterbury, New Zealand
This unique limestone outcrop in the Canterbury high country is fascinating geologically, as a landscape feature, and as a region steeped in Maori cultural lore and mythology and is a very spiritual place. It is also the place where Legolas, Gimli and Aragorn are filmed in the second of the Lord of the Rings Films running after orcs to try to rescue the captured hobbits.
