Torea nest - South Island Pied Oystercatcher - Haematopus finschi
This bird and its mate were nesting right beside the road on the foreshore of Cashmere Bay, Lake Brunner, West Coast, South Island, New Zealand. Not a particularly good choice for the birds as it was also on the edge of a popular car and boat park. People were unknowingly parking right beside the bird and continually scaring it off its nest. I doubt if they will bring any eggs through.
