Ngakawau River, Charming Creek Walkway

Located on the West Coast of the South island of New Zealand the Charming Creek walkway is one of the West Coast's finest walks. At its main highway end it follows the Ngakawau River Gorge and it takes about three hours to reach the other end near the abandoned Charming Creek mine. Many people choose to walk this beautiful track both ways, or arrange transport at either end to get back to their cars.
