Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light. Shine on you crazy diamond.
The fickle photography gods were kind enough to place a little tree and a small whispy cloud along the edge of a cliff in the same general area where the sun was going down. I didn't even have to walk around too much to allign the tree above the sun and the cloud above the tree. I took a number of shots playing with exposures and composition as the sun set, but this might be my favoirite because for a very brief time the setting sun illuminated the tree at just the right angle to cast a shadow on the hazy cloud above. The only thing I could figure is that there was some weird reflecting light off the angles of the other side of the cliff. As Floyd said, "shine on you crazy diamond."
