Predannack Airfield, Lizard, Cornwall
Predannack Airfield is a satellite of RNAS Culdrose and is used primarily as a relief landing ground for Helicopter Pilot Training. This may consist of load lifting, circuits and continuation training. The Airfield has a fully functional Control Tower, four runways and four helicopter landing spots. There is also a weather radar, part of the Bracknell chain of radars, on the edge of the airfield.
The airfield is half owned by National Trust, and has been deemed an area of great natural beauty due to the rare orchids and butterflies that are found there, part of the airfield has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
