Central Garage Leedstown
Celebrating 50 years at the show in 2012 is Central Garage, from Leedstown, near Hayle. Ken Hall set up the company with his wife Hazel in 1958.
They started from scratch, selling British Leyland vehicles and now they deal with Same Deutz and stock a wide range of equipment from various manufacturers.
Central Garage exhibited at the show for the first time in 1962, just after the Royal Cornwall had set up its permanent home at Wadebridge. Now Ken – who, at the age of 83, still works everyday at the garage – Hazel and their daughter Jackie, knows the company could not afford to miss the Royal Cornwall.
“I do feel proud to have been such a regular. I would say there’s not many been up there as long. It’s a showplace and you have to keep going because people expect to see you there,” he said.
