Three Arches
"Paris Streets 394, Three Arches." I captured this documentary panorama of Paris from a location above the Place du Carrousel–a window of the apartment of Napoleon III located in the Richelieu wing of the Louvre. The image spans the area from the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel (in the far left, foreground) to the Arc de Triomphe (to the right of the large Ferris wheel (Le Roue de Paris)) to the Grande Arche de la Défense (in about the middle of the cluster of high-rise buildings located at the horizon near the right side of the image). This is a straight line distance of more than 8 kilometers. Also visible are the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, École du Louvre (School Louvre), Jardin du Carrousel (Carrousel Garden), Jardin des Tuileries (Tuileries Garden), Eiffel Tower, Petit Palais (fine arts museum), and other historic and popular Paris landmarks and sites.
