A Brief Moment

Well, perhaps not THAT brief. My goal was to capture the Aurora Borealis and I therefore used ISO 4000 with 43 second exposures.  After about 45 minutes I headed back to the lodge because I knew my timing was poor. Indeed the prior day (www.flickr.com/photos/steventheamusing/9340352368) the Aurora was more active... I just didn't know it!

 

So what do you do with 49 images which don't contain the aurora?  You stack them, of course!  I used the StarCircleAcademy Advanced Stacker PLUS in "Long Streaks" mode.

 

Did you spot me in this shot?  I'm a shadowy figure.
