Zoom, Zoom [5_045941-59ps]

The International Space Station zipped by in this predawn event visible from an narrow band between San Quentin and the Pacific Coast. Many thanks to Phil McGrew for proposing the idea and doing the work to figure out when and where to go to catch the bright little "star" of the ISS as it rose almost straight up from the western horizon.

NOTE: I used Photographer's Ephemeris to confirm the altitude and azimuth of the moon for this shot - it didn't calculate where the satellite would cross, of course.
