Tom Lowe, overall winner of the 2010 Astronomy Photographer of the Year contest has shot this tree a LOT. You can see why. Pre-order his timelapse movie for an extra treat! I can't wait for my copy!
I took this photo prior to the "Dark of the Moon Night Photography Workshop" sponsored by the Point Reyes National Seashore Association (PRNSA). We were based at Crooked Creek Research Station - a fantastic spot to be with 3 meals a day expertly prepared by Tim. We're eager to do it again next year - already have the dates nailed down (as much as they can be this far in advance!).
