Red Rock Dancing *Explored*

I completed an article to illustrate stacking. This is a 13 second timelapse that I assembled from the parts. The first 6 seconds show the 33 frames used to create the final image. Starting at 0:08 seconds remaining each of the first 33 frames is stacked one at a time showing longer and longer trails. The final image is a lightened version. The total time spanned is 198 minutes - three hours, 18 minutes.

One thing to note is the "flashing" light on the 33 frames. That light comes from trucks driving by during the 6 minute exposure of each frame. Also interesting is how that light is "added" when it is stacked in the second half. Unfortunately the video conversion is a little blotchy... be sure to watch in HD if you can!

Not only did I do this for my upcoming article, but I was also "challenged" to animate my 33 images used to stack my Red Rock Canyon South-Side image... so I did both.

I used Picasa3's Movie mode to create this. It's not rich or full featured, but it's pretty easy to use.

I set it all to music by Acoustic Alchemy entitled "KidsStuff" because it makes me smile.

For a similar (and much longer) timelapse spanning an entire night on Mission Peak see here.

And for more information about how I created this animation, check out my StarCircleAcademy.com as I've got an article in the works.
