Polydamus Swallowtail (Battus polydamas), on the island of Mancarron, Solentiname, Nicaragua.

 

Those that have seen this species will know that in feeds "in-flight", a bit like a humming-bird or some types of hawkmoth do. In consequence this was shot in Shutter Priority to "freeze" the action.

 

As an aside the photograph was taken in the garden of the revolutionary poet Ernesto Cardenal
