Concentrate!

Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory located on the southern end of the Iberian Peninsula at the entrance of the Mediterranean. It has an area of 6.8 square kilometres (2.6 sq mi) and a northern border with Andalusia, Spain. The Rock of Gibraltar is the only landmark of the region. At its foot is the densely populated city area, home to almost 30,000 Gibraltarians and other nationalities.

A bicycle, or moped, is the quickest method to cross the border from Gibraltar to Spain. Motor vehicles can be subject to long waiting times partly due to the amount and mostly to do with how quickly the Spanish customs process the vehicles. The Spanish authorities are looking for smuggled cigarettes mainly - the duty in Gibraltar is much lower, as is the duty on Fuel.

It is suspected that the Spanish customs officers are instructed to 'go slow' at times of political tension between Gibraltar and Spain.

Some Spaniards make the trip to Gibraltar solely to fill their vehicles tanks and buy cigarettes.

At this part of the route to the border, bicycles and mopeds are separated by large white plastic barriers. Concentration is needed to negotiate them, especially when a few have been knocked!

On the other side of the fence is Spain.
