Admirers

The view from the 17th floor of Broadgate Tower.

 

I was so excited to be up there with my camera, as were Ali and Darren (the girl and guy on the second full panel from the right) for the view. I was busy trying to find good composition material outside in the world below then I turned around and saw the opportunities inside: great light coming through the full length windows, a large open space with a shiny floor and pockets of people all over the place. I immediately saw the opportunity for some silhouettes and reflections so switched to my telephoto lens and shot from afar so as not to disturb the subjects and capture them in their most natural forms.

 

I've added a bit of light in here to bring out the punctuations of patterns from people's clothing and also show a bit of the tall chap in the middle's face.

 

My favourite features of the picture are the subjects' legs. I really like the different stances everyone is adopting - the silhouettes and reflections accentuate this further.
