Darren at the barrier

This photo is quite frustrating: I love the composition, depth of field and Darren's pose, but the lighting from the sun was just too much and I've done as much as I could with it to try to balance out the contrast on his face.

 

We'll just have to live it with though and embrace the contrast......unless anyone has any suggestions on how I can improve?
