Day 40: Experimental
Feb 9th
Today was a good day. A long day, but a good day. This picture is from yesterday as I took none today (school day) - it was taken with a Canon 5D Mk II (rented from bergen hall) and a 28mm f/3.5 L lens (also rented) of the pool right next to mah dorm room.
Woke up at 7:00, 40 minutes later than usual because I hit the sack so late last night. Made sure everything was ready for class and peaced out around 7:45 for the top of the hill, rode to bergen with meghan. Today was the first time she's ever beaten me to bergen (because of traffic light complications). Class was good, but a basically review for me. I followed Strobist.com religiously back in the day, so as Christman went over soft lighting concepts and on-and-off camera flash pros and cons I may or may not have drifted in and out of consiousness despite my just-emptied bottle of delicious fresh roasted colombian hazelnut coffee.
We have an off-camera lighting assignment, for which I am sufficiently stoked. I probably won't get to work on it till next tuesday though due to my immense worklaod editing and color theory wise.
That class was followed by breakfast at Scafe (keeping in fresh, changing things up) with Claire and Taylor, then some essay revisions and a massive internal debate over whether to ride my bike to class or not. I rode, and I got there with enough time to bathroom, print out my final essay twice, and mozey on down to the classroom and only be two minutes late, which is like not late at all since it's under 15. Comp class was unusually off topic, but mostly consisted of us practicing writing about ourselves, because our next essay is inexplicably about that. Should be interesting. Design class was full of not knowing how to expand and refine my design for the project due monday, but i'll work that out this weekend. the rest of the night was filled with scafe and friends and fun as far as I can remember.
