James

James was sitting by the alley that runs behind the Oriental Theater. He's been homeless for about two and a half years. He's on a waiting list for housing. Sometimes he has a place to stay, other times he has to sleep on the train. His legs are amputated at the knees and he is waiting for his prosthetics to be made. A friend he calls "my brother" carries him every day to this spot, where he sits to try to make a few bucks. His encouragement for people who are going through tough times is "Stay strong" and "be strong, you will get through this...Hey, I'm doing it!"
