Challenge #10

“Imagine you're a time traveller from a hundred years in the future. Make a picture that shows how you perceive this place.” – Carolyn Drake

If I could travel back 100 years from today, I would look for how people lived and travelled, issues of energy generation, etc. I’d be looking for that from a contextual perspective of today – the ways of life today and the historical developments of the past 100 years.

So, imagining I am a traveller from 100 years hence, I guess I’d be looking for how people lived and travelled, how energy was generated, etc – but I’d be viewing this from my contextual perspective of 100 years in the future ... what will have happened over the next 100 years? and what would my life environment be like at that time?

My crystal balls may be optimistic or pessimistic: life today could be seen as muddled and primitive compared with 100 years hence, or we might be living in some form of ‘golden age’ [believe it or not] since by 100 years climate change and resource depletion will have taken their toll.

The trouble is – taking a photo of today will seem pretty ‘ordinary’ today – but in 100 years hence may be viewed as amazing ...
