If you want to get ahead...
...get a hat!
This slogan was apparently invented by the late Charles Sydney Catlin in the 1930's.
The story goes that Charles had gone to an interview for a job at an advertising company and had shown them his portfolio, which included this slogan he had made up into a poster format.
He didn't get the job, but some months later he saw his slogan being used in an advert on the London Underground. He was, to say the least, very upset indeed!
Charles was rightly very proud of this now infamous advertising slogan and used his story as a message to his family to always safeguard your own work.
