Double Burr Arch Truss Design

This shot of the Union Covered Bridge in Missouri was taken about a year ago (June 2014). Construction was completed in 1871 and it spans the Elk fork of the Salt River on the Paris to Fayette Road. This particular bridge is the only surviving covered bridge in Missouri that utilizes the doubled Burr Arch truss system, which is clearly visible in this HDR rendering.

I processed this as an HDR image to bring out the details of the otherwise dark interior. The monochrome/color combination was achieved in Photoshop using layers. The bright foliage was meant to draw the eye in to the scene while differentiating the end of the bridge from its interior.
