Union Covered Bridge in Monochrome
This is another shot of the Union Covered Bridge in Missouri that I took about a year ago (June 2014). Construction on the Union Covered Bridge in Missouri was completed in 1871 and spanned the Elk fork of the Salt River on the Paris to Fayette Road. It is the only surviving example in Missouri of a covered bridge utilizing the doubled Burr Arch truss system. It is also much longer than the red Sugar Creek Covered Bridge in Illinois, which are the more recent pictures that I've been posting.
I'm grateful to my wife who more or less patiently waited as I wandered off to take some pictures of the bridge (I was gone a little longer than I had intended.) :D
I used Photomatix to create an HDR rendition of this in black and white. It was an interesting workflow of my own creation and one that I have not used since working on the set of images from the Union Covered Bridge shoot.
