Downstream View of the Union Covered Bridge

A black and white version with a slightly different perspective is about 12 pictures down in my photo stream. Personally, I like it somewhat better... but I also realize that not everyone is into B&W.

Construction on the Union Covered Bridge in Missouri was completed in 1871 and spanned the Elk fork of the Salt River on the Paris to Fayette Road. It is the only surviving example in Missouri of a covered bridge utilizing the doubled Burr Arch truss system.

I'm grateful to my wife who more or less patiently waited as I wandered off to take some pictures of the bridge (I was gone a little longer than I had intended.) :D
