Lancashire & Yorkshire Class 25 of 1883

Built at Vulcan Foundry, Works Number 979 in March 1883 as a 0-6-0 tender loco to a design by Barton Wright. Rebuilt by Aspinall as a saddle tank engine in 1896 Entered service as Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Number 803, becoming 11475 of the London Midland and Scottish Railway in 1924. Allocated the BR number of 51475 but never wore it, being withdrawn in Nov 1949. Seen here at Aintree in c.1950.
