Lapwing in flight
I've been kind of vaguely trying to get shots of individual lapwings in flight, with only limited success. The best opportunities seem to come when they are in the fields, when they will sometimes fly just a few yards in search of a better spot and you can catch them if you're quick. But then the problem is getting close enough - they are very skittish. This gives an idea of what I'm after, but it's a very heavy crop so it's a bit lacking in detail. It shows one of the lapwing's more striking features - the big wings, especially the 'hands', in proportion to its body.
