Sketchbook Page | An Imaginary Landscape, 2020 | Pen & Ink on Strathmore’s 80 lb. drawing paper

This page demonstrations why fine point pens are problematic for this artist. I just tighten up like crazy when a medium invites it. This scene borrows a lot from artworks I was creating around fifteen or so years back. The tank was inspired by artist Stephen Jeffrey of Great Britain. He’s been a favorite of mine for a very long time. The copse of trees pays homage to flickr artist pirlouit72. A pen & ink drawing of his just knocked me out! The image below is a link to this drawing.

Okay, I’ve got to confess a couple of things. First, when I began this drawing I had no idea of where it would end up. Second, I had to patch the middle right area TWICE! I screwed it up two times. Finally I replaced the auto with the tank. A few artifacts of the patch are at the far right. I wasn’t able to completely erase these problems.
