GORNERGRAT BAHN - SWITZERLAND on 20-09-11.

Starting at Zermatt in one of the valleys in the shadows The Matterhorn, and reaching the heady hights of 3,089m (10,132ft) above sea level, the Gornergrat Bahn is the highest open air cog railway in Europe.
The vantage point (a further 43m but you'll have to walk that!) at 3,131m gives a mountainous panoramic view that is just incredible.
Not only can you see The Matterhorn but 29 other four-thousand-plus-meters high peaks and numerous glaciers. As you can see it was cold but beautifully sunny ... a view to savour for many years.
