Artist Stephen B Whatley painting in Wales. June 2013
Captured more than midway during passionate creation of a commissioned painting in North Wales, expressionist painter Stephen B Whatley absorbs and interprets the Tudor beauty of a house dating from 1506, to his left (...photographs of the house and complete painting to follow soon).
Working spontaneously on location has been a striking mark of Stephen's work - and his many architectural commissions include paintings of Buckingham Palace for the Royal Collection, exteriors and interiors of landmark buildings for the BBC and - along with other city landmarks - 30 paintings for the Tower of London, all permanently reproduced throughout Tower Hill Underpass that leads to the Tower.
Oil on canvas,
36 x 48in/ 92 x 122cm
