Portraits Podcast with artist Stephen B. Whatley. 2025

Expressionist artist Stephen B. Whatley returns to the KWT Printing studio - for his third podcast episode exploring his journey as an artist - on "Bern's Speak Easy".

 

In this episode the artist focuses on his portrait painting , telling stories behind some of his portrait sittings with stars of stage and screen and other public figures, over the years . Filmed in Covent Garden, London on November 12, 2025.

 

This screenshot shows Stephen - who is 6ft 1in tall talking about painting the diminutive ( 4ft 11in) film, TV and stage actress Dame Barbara Windsor - star of the Carry On films and in her later years star of the BBC soap opera Eastenders.

Amongst the other portraits discussed, he tells how one of the actress's pet dogs actually ate some of his paint off his palette, during the sitting - and you will discover which sitter , unable to select a shirt, decided to be painted shirtless ! More surprises - including a Royal letter - are revealed during the podcast.
