Tandra Quinn. 2016 by Stephen B. Whatley
A new tribute in oils by expressionist artist Stephen B. Whatley to the 1950s Hollywood film actress Tandra Quinn. The Hollywood starlet and model appeared in 4 motion pictures in the early 1950s before retiring from the screen. Her exquisite iconic beauty is showcased in the now cult surreal science fiction movie, Mesa of Lost Women (USA 1952) which was the predominant inspiration for this portrait tribute.
The British painter - whose work has been published in TIME magazine - has long been a classic Hollywood film buff; and his interest lead him to research and contact Tandra Quinn in Texas, in 2005; since when they have enjoyed a heartfelt friendship.
