A previously unseen oil painting by expressionist artist Stephen B. Whatley has just gone on show at the London gallery, Isaac & Ede in Kensington, W8 .
The small painting (oil on canvas 16 x 12in/40.6 x 30.4cm) is one of two views of the Dome painted on location at the foot of St Paul's Cathedral in 1992. Other works by Whatley exhibited in the show of London views are 3 charcoal drawings of St Paul's and a drawing of Westminster Abbey; all created on location in London in 2002.
Whatley's work, which has been published in TIME magazine is in private collections worldwide; in public collections including BBC Heritage, The Royal Collection, London Transport Museum Newman University & Westminster Cathedral; while there is 30 paintings commissioned by the Tower of London are permanently reproduced outside Tower Hill Station, London.
