The Reeves Family. 2015 by Stephen B. Whatley
Smiles at the dawn of a new year…a recent family portrait by expressionist artist Stephen B. Whatley. The oil painting, inspired by photographs, was commissioned as a Christmas surprise for Sara and Michael Reeves & their children by American collectors of the artist's work - and was unveiled at their home in the USA on Christmas Day. The family were so delighted that they emailed photographs of them opening the Fine Art crate, revealing the painting.
The work of Stephen B. Whatley - which has been published in TIME magazine - is in private collections worldwide and in public collections including BBC Heritage, The London Transport Museum and The Royal Collection of Queen Elizabeth II. His series of 30 paintings for the Tower of London are permanently showcased as a permanent art exhibit outside Tower Hill Station.
Happy New Year 2016.
