Midway through a recent portrait commission in London, UK, on October 31, 2014, expressionist artist Stephen B Whatley bends to clean his brushes.
The artist - whose portrait of Barack Obama was published in TIME magazine in 2008 and whose commission of 30 works for the Tower of London is permanently on show at Tower Hill - paints his vibrant portraits in oils in a single sitting of about 3 hours; and was painting former radio producer and art dealer John Stewart Hardman.
