John Stewart Hardman. 2014 by Stephen B Whatley

A recently commissioned portrait of former Capital Radio (Capital FM) news producer and art dealer John Stewart Hardman, painted from life at his London home, by expressionist artist Stephen B Whatley.

 

The oil painting was completed in the single sitting of approximately 3 hours that the artist - whose portrait of Barack Obama was published in TIME magazine in 2008 - requires to complete a portrait from life. The previous photograph on this site shows the artist working on the portrait.

 

The work of Stephen B Whatley is on daily public display at Tower Hill where his commission of 30 paintings for the Tower of London is permanently reproduced through out Tower Hill Underpass that leads to the Tower of London.

 

The artist's work is in collections worldwide & in public collections including BBC Heritage, The Royal Collection, London Transport Museum & Westminster Cathedral.
