There's something a bit chaotic in the way leaves lie on the ground which I quite like.
The stark colour difference between them and the trunks (and the green leaves in the farther section) also makes for a sharp division of the frame in two parts.
I thought about posting this one for a bit, since I have basically the same patch of trees in another photo, but decided to go for it after taking the time to really look more closely and notice how it differs in the colour and makes for an interesting shot (well, in my opinion).
Generally speaking, I like this set of shots and I only regret having left the tripod home on that day, forcing myself into handheld/high ISO shots, which have crippled the final results a bit.
