Stefan Marjoram says: I don't know what it is that I like so much about this image. Perhaps it's the complimentary blue and orange colours, or the retro feel of the car and environment which make me nostalgic for a time and place I never knew. The square format is nice too and the fact that it's just rained and now the sun has come out. Perhaps I like it so much because it's just packed full of so many interesting elements.

Stefan Marjoram says: La Source, Spa. One of the few places where you can get as close to the cars as the photographers 50 years ago. One day I hope to stand there too - and I'll be jolly pleased if I manage to get a shot with the energy of this one.

Stefan Marjoram says: It's perhaps a bit dark but I think this photo captures perfectly the beautiful lines of one of the most impressive cars in the world.

Stefan Marjoram says: It would have been tempting to crop this tighter but I think the composition with its large black areas have made this very dramatic.

Stefan Marjoram says: A once in a lifetime shot. It's full of action and technically mind-blowing. 300mm lens on a 40D is the equivalent of 480mm, try holding that steady at 1/40th. Now try panning with a car as it slides through a gravel trap and getting it pin sharp. Astounding.

Stefan Marjoram says: I've long admired the work of Lost America. His technique is great for highlighting the amazing shapes of these aging beasts.

Stefan Marjoram says: I suspect a lot of planning went into getting this shot but I think it captures excellently the speed of the cars as well as the glamour of some of the new F1 circuits.

Stefan Marjoram says: Beautiful photos and terrific grading with a very filmic feel - they look like movie stills.

Stefan Marjoram says: The wide angle lens really exagerates the outlandish shape of the Testarossa. It looks almost like a spaceship!

Stefan Marjoram says: Love Laurent's use of fast lenses to isolate the subjects. Great grading and compositions too.

Stefan Marjoram says: Sometimes the best composition isn't always obvious. The cross processed look works well too.
