Poutre de gloire à Gouttières

A "poutre de gloire" (beam of glory) is the beam between the nave and the choir of a church. There are usually statues of Jesus hanging at the cross and saints at his side. To the right is Mary, mother of Jesus and to the left John the Baptist. These statues were made in the 17th century. The ceiling, decorated with handdrawn lilies and ermine paws was built in the 16th century.
