Irv with Chevy, MS 12-1936 5x5 1
Here is a photo of my grandfather Irv in Mississippi. On the back it says in my grandmother's handwriting: "Irv just starting off in his 'Chevie' for the field! Dec. '36." Irv was a travelling salesman of petroleum products, and worked in Mississippi during the Depression, before settling in Illinois. The license plate is from 1936. On the tire it says Drive Safely with the Pure oil logo in the center and then it says "with Yale tires"; The picture was developed at Standard Photo Co. in Jackson and is only 2x3 inches.
The car looks to be about a 1934, but I'm not sure. Here are some pictures of 1930s Cevrolets...
