"This is cool!"

This postcard featuring the Taku Glacier and an excursion steamer was postmarked in 1909 in Seattle. Excursions to view the Alaskan Glaciers were popular among tourists, and no doubt were endorsed to visitors to the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (World's Fair) held on the University of Washington campus.

The message reads:

"Seattle 7/29, Yours from the White Mts. Please tell that Mary Lee, I think she is a mean lady not to let me know if she is coming to Seattle. Your old Mts are all right but I am going up Mt Rainier if I can get away long enough. Alice has been up. It is a gran trip all right. I am really going to write you a real letter before long I hope. H."
