little bear's quilt

I didn't know how to sew when I started this but I did have my grandmother's 1960s Sears-Kenmore machine and a background in design and art history. Ok, I did know how to thread a machine and sew a straight line and that's all I really needed to get started. A short course with Louise Silk at the Pittsburgh Center for the Creative Arts helped move things along. Begun Fall 1998, completed February 1999.

100% cotton fabric, thread and batting. Machine pieced, hand quilted.
